Missing in Action

I hope everyone has been doing well! I have even away maybe about a month or more. I just needed a break. A long break...blogging didn't seem as fun like when I first began. I began worrying about what people would read, keeping up with other bloggers and trying to gain followers when I know I do not have time to blog everyday. It's called life. Lol. I have one. A pretty hectic, very involved one that doesn't have too much down time. Nonetheless I miss it. So I am back.

I have been trying to catch up on all of your wonderful blogs! Fashion shows, baby craze, nail polish, and reading other perspective on life. I've missed a lot!

I have just joined the iPhone world so as much as I would love to upload pictures to catch you guys up on what's been happening... I have to wait until tomorrow. I don't have many pictures on here yet!

So until then.

Learning to fly solo

There comes a point in life when you realize you have never been alone. At least I haven't..well in all fairness i have always been extremely so I never really had time to think about being alone really. Now with no papers, exams tomorrow, or reason to really be busy other than clean my apartment... I have friends.. But they have lives too. I feel like I need to know what its like to be completely alone. Not fixing  someone. Not trying to help someone else be better.

My goal over the next few months is to figure out exactly who I am, exactly what I believe, what I need. I know what I want. In a heart beat. But what do I truly need?? Only time will tell..

If I had known that sooner....

When I sit here to myself and think about my young, crazy, quirky, curious self, I cant help but think about the things that I wish I would have known..so I decided to make a list....here we go.

1. Trying to please everyone is virtually IMPOSSIBLE. So just dont try.

2. Its ok to have to switch deoderants every season. As long as you dont stink.

3. Forget the excuse "my dog ate my homework" and go for "I just didnt do it"

4. Save your damn money.

5. Never try to be a perfectionist. It will kill you.

6. Racism and sexism were not left back in the early 1900's. So just realize that.

7. A man in his late 20's that cant keep a job, will not change. Move on.

8. Ranch is awesome on every meat.

9. There is a thin line between friendly and fresh

10. Stop comparing youself to other people. Accept the fact your boogie is the shit and it no one elses matter

11. There are lots of men who will be nice to you. Accept nothing less.

12. Be nicer to yourself too.

13. For the most part, it doesn’t matter what people think. Follow your own truth.

14. No education is wasted. Drink in as many new experiences as you can.

15. Pay your dues. Work hard.

16. Networking is critical.

17. Letting go of control is liberating. Try it.

18. Don’t treat anyone badly. You’ll be surprised when they’ll pop up again in your life.

19.Do what you love, not what you think you’re supposed to do.

25.Don’t forget to enjoy your journey!

Never forgotten. Brandon Granthon.

Loyalty, respect and friendship. Three things I can always say i learned from him. Unconditional loyalty, unconditional respect, unconditional friendship. Always unconditional. The very first time we met we never knew we'd end up the great friends we were. But we were. One morning the world i knew with him was over. On May 5, 2009 my best friend Brandon Granthon was killed by the hands of someone else. Although the main person involved is now serving life in prison and a very recent trial sentenced another involved to life as well, I didn't get my friend back. I have lost the meaning of "justice being served."
The point of this particular blog is to just remind the world of a great man, friend, brother and son Brandon was. He didn't only teach me things but the community around him. He was a very special person and i can only pray that my children will come across someone else as special and unique as him. No matter what the media says or judges unveil i will always love Brandon from the bottom of my heart.
So heres to you Bff =) ill make sure they don't forget.

R.I.P Brandon Granthon
